Mirta A. González, Professor Emeritus of Spanish

As a previous High School teacher, I have been very interested in the Spanish language.  As a Professor in the State University system, my interests have varied.  Because of my academic formation I became interested in literature, especially 17th Century, because of the great literatures and theater written at that time in Spain.

Language: Spanish Language, Golden Age Literature, Chicano Literature, Women’s literature.

Courses: I have taught all levels, beginning with SPAN 101, 102, 150, 155, 212, 213, 214, 302/395, 314, etc.

Research Activities: My publications vary.  I have published articles on Francisco de Quevedo—who is the major author in my studies—as well as articles about contemporary women writers, and Chicano lit. authors.

Service/Public Committees: Presently I am not too involved in committees because I am FERPing, but previously I was very much involved in our department and university committees.
